Your character has just become a gladiator.  Tell me about his attitude.

1.  Does he want to be a gladiator? was he forced? volunteered?

2.  What does he think of the crowds? loves them? hates them? ambivalent?

3.  What does he think of the other gladiators?  friendly and outgoing?  reluctant?  wants to kill them all? etc.

4.  What does he think of dying?  fearful?  spits in death's face?  Doesn't want to die, but doesn't care either?  death is better than being a slave?  Willing to face it head-on?  Just wants to die?

5.  What is his demeanor in the arena?  trying to have fun? down to business?  reluctant?  makes the first move? lets opponent make the first move?  plays to the audience?  Trash talks? etc.
1. Volunteers to be a gladiator for own pleasure.

2. Does not care about the crowd.

3. Wants to kill others for his own amusement.

4. Does not mind to be piled up on the dead bodies for disposal if it was worth a great deathgasm.

5. Wants to have fun in the arena by killing or being killed. Aggressive combat. Acts cocky/masculine.
1. chooses to be a gladiator

2. enjoys having a crowd, but doesn't really interact with them while fighting. Just likes having a crowd to entertain.

3. pretty friendly cause why not enjoy the time you have left before the fateful day you reach your end.

4/5. He sees fighting/dieing as entertainment, for himself and the crowds. Whether that be him killing other gladiators or him meeting his own end, he wants to make a spectacle of it. He will make a lot more grunts and groans while fighting, and may prolong a fight just to give the audience a show. When he eventually gets it himself, he would be verbal about it with things like "ugh, ya got me." and similar phrases. I guess a word to describe it would be theatrical. That said, even though he does this as entertainment, he never takes his attention away from the other fighter (aka. does not gesture to the crowd). This is a moment and connection that only the two fighting in the arena share after all.
1. forced to be a gladiator

2. ambivalent towards the crowd but also has a slight distaste for them

3. friendly towards the others

4. fearful of dying

5. concentrates while fighting to maximize his chances of making it out alive
