a) Stabbed / Run through
b) with a spear or sword in the navel (maybe multiple stabs, all in the belly, with at least one in the navel). Nothing involving chest area/heart
c) grunts and groans, maybe some verbal phrases. What ever will allow a pleasurable kill for the opponent and an entertaining death for himself. Preferably a slow death, maybe with a little dialogue between the two.

My opponent fights aggressively and tactically, countering my attacks.

Run through with a shortsword through my navel and out my back. I fall to my knees as my opponent kicks me on my back and I scream as he pulls his sword from me. How do they die? I kill my opponents by stabbing and slicing them open/gut them with a sword. I die by surprise, getting stabbed by two gladiators at the same time. One stabs through my back and the other one impales both me and the other gladiator. As I grunt angrily, I finally welcome death by falling onto the pile of dead bodies having a great last deathgasm.

There is a short -film by Ryse: Son of Rome where this is shown but it has a very dark touch to it.
1: defensive fight, until I manage to remove the breastplate, then aggressively attack
2: aggressive until he looses the breastplate, the desperate defense
3: we both die. he disarms me, but refuses to kill his own brother. The outraged Emperor orders his archers to shoot us down, but to first make us suffer, putting the first arrow in my deep quarter sized navel and pushing his outie navel to his spine. Then a barrage of arrows into our bellies and thighs before finally finishing us off with arrows in the chest.
