At the Victory Celebration, the captives fought to the death before a full arena. Warriors from many tribes were held in captivity for this event. They were matched against their own enemy tribes, giving the fighters incentive to do battle.
There would be no pausing between events to clear the arena floor. The defeated simply were left in place and the new sets of of captives fought around and on top of them. Many of the fallen were still shooting their final loads as other fighters fell across them. By mid-day all were fighting and dying on top of the previous batches of fighters.
