Taza, Son of Cochise spear scene - Derek 1931 - 05-09-2020
Does anybody remember this classic spear scene? They even referenced it in the movie poster. Lance Fuller gets a couple arrows in him, then an Indian hurls a spear right into his belly...in 3-D! The black and white shot is a staged publicity still as the spear is about to hit him; the color shot is a frame from the film.
I remember the scene vividly because it's one of those rare hits where you really feel it slamming hard and deep into his belly. It was carefully staged for 3-D

I was mistaken about Rock Hudson spearing him, I was fooled by the poster.

I added another still of the exact moment of impact when the spear goes into his belly...you can more clearly see the two arrows in him as well.

I do remember that scene. Not when it first came out! I am not that old, but probably some Saturday afternoon years later. Poor Rock - but he brought it off, as best he could.
