We are lucky generals are so stupid as to keep sending massive numbers of their vulnerable young swordsjocks to try to attack the archers.

I love the first two! The story in my head is that they're all brothers or cousins from the same small town in ancient Greece. Heard the Homeric hymns and wanted their taste of the glories of battle! Instead, all they got was their chests perforated and their jocks fouled.
