Bio: Fun DIY Projects – Make Your Own Picasso Ceramic Tiles. Magnetic tiles and Picasso tiles are great magnets. However, they all work in a different way. They are easier to use, and they can be put together more tightly than strong building materials. They will enhance young children's physical and mental development, and help them with everyday skills such problem solving. Although this all sounds wonderful, the truth is that children learn by doing. They don't need to be fed information. As such, it is important that parents offer support and information whenever necessary. Magnetic building tiles and magnetic puzzle toys are great because children can choose an activity that interests them and can take part in. This allows children to engage in creative thinking and create new concepts. We purchased inexpensive magnetic tiles from a Spanish retailer to create magnetic puzzle toys and build magnetic children's buildings. These were thin, transparent pieces of plastic. We then cut a couple of them in half and joined them together with a magnet. The result was a magnetic construction that we could assemble. The "base" was then made from wooden magnetic pieces. We used two of our precious wood pieces. (Our "big kid", is approximately nine years). This was our first ever DIY construction. The pieces were stuck to a wooden board and the magnetic pieces were attached to the plastic base. Voila! A sturdy, attractive toy building block. The final step was to attach the pieces of plastic to make the toy. Our next step was to attach the two magnetic pieces together using metal rivets. We used small-sized metal rivets (the kind you use in nails). This provided a solid join to allow the plastic pieces and glue to stick together. We joined several or four magnetic tiles together and left some of the thinnest sections unconnected. Finally, we gave the back a coat white paint so that the child could paint where she desired. We made some additional additions to the magnetic tiles. Some plastic pipe insulation was used to make shapes. Next, we placed the different colors of magnets onto the top of the tiles. Finally, we arranged the shapes in a way that would make them look like pictures. After painting, the entire wooden board was covered with black newspaper. A cardboard piece with images was also laid on top of the board. This allowed our children to take home their magnetic building blocks and decorate them. The finished product - beautiful Picasso tiles that matched the colors of the room! We discovered that some pieces could be left exposed while painting the room. We used small magnets to stick them in the spaces between the pieces. You could then make the pieces fall apart and create a puzzle-like appearance by attaching magnets to each piece. My son and his friends enjoyed this project together. We were thrilled with the final results. You can make your own Picasso tile using small magnets or pre-made ones. Picasso tiles can be made quickly in either way. It only takes a few hours to make the tiles, if you know how to cut plastic, glue the pieces together, and then add the final touches such as the little magnets. A beautiful toy made from plastic can be created for your child in just an hour. For your next child's birthday, you might consider creating a magnetic copy of Picasso's famous "DT” painting. This painting is very popular among educational institutions. By creating a magnetic version of this painting, you can give your child an easy and affordable way to learn how to color. There are many websites that provide instructions for making the plastic pieces and step-by-step illustrations. There are many shapes available that you can mix with the different colors to create different designs. Just a few hours work and a few tiny magnets will allow you to create magnetic tiles that match both the color of your car or room. Plastic magnets can be used to make a variety of crafts, including mouse pads, identification tags, scrapbooks, and mouse pads. If you're really stuck, the small magnets can be used to reposition damaged pieces of plastic. You can make your own magnetic tiles, no matter if you're a child who likes to paint or a parent looking for something fun for a child's birthday.
