Why was the site down? Did something happen?

Maybe someone already posted this before, but Mishima directed a film named Yûkoku (translated as Patriotism), which has a scene where Lieutenant Takeyama (Yukio Mishima) commits seppuku. The sensual belly movements, the close-ups on his belly, and the act of "gracefully turning one's spirit and one's body inside out like rose petals"- Aah, simply exquisite~!

A fair warning for the weaklings out there: this video depicts the "beauty" of "the insides of a human being". Watch at your own risk. Don't complain if you don't like it.

An interesting account about Mishima's motive for committing seppuku at the end of his life (from a Reddit comment):

Mishima picked up the then 20-year-old student in a gay bar. Sex took the form of role-play. In this scene, I take on the role of a gangster caught in a dramatic moment of action as he is shot. The tension is palpable, with the choreography and effects emphasizing the gravity of the moment, showcasing both intensity and storytelling.

I like this heroic image and would like to give credit to Remixing Reality for creating this.

It excites me to think I could be one of these muscular Romans celebrating victory after battle, enjoying an intimate moment as we embrace each other, with double ended spearheads penetrating our navels and our rock-hard manhoods rubbing against each other in ecstasy. The excitement would be even better with us both naked, as other warriors in our group cheer us on to climax.

GaryJ (a friend of the board) has posted on of his amazing compilations for Hercules Against the Sons of the Sun, starring Mark Forrest as Hercules. Lots of bare chested warrior being stabbed here. My favorite part is at 6:30, where Hercules stabs a man square in the gut. The victim here staggers to the wall in agony, and slides down it as he dies. Wonderful!

It was time for the annual plea to the gods. The gods needed to be asked for a bountiful harvest and victory over enemies. Messages to the gods had to be delivered in the gods' world. No living being could enter that place, so there was the matter of the sacrificial altar. Men from the tribe eagerly volunteered. The captives were not so eager. Eager or not, the chosen messengers lined the steps to the altar and were sent on their way.
