I've had several of my actors say that, at least in a movie, they would love to take a blast or two from a shotgun right in their belly and see their guts blown out. It's just so epic and over the top to watch your entire belly be blown open to the point where your guts are actually flying out in every direction. It's a horrific and spectacular death, but also quick; the bloodloss would be so great you'd be unconscious and then dead in a few seconds.
In this movie it's a sawed-off shotgun which has a wider spray of pellets. The closest I came to a similar effect in my vids was this scene with Longhair; the big 5 inch wound suggests regular shotgun hits, but more concentrated in one area than your scene. Still takes out his navel and surrounding area! Longhair actually requested to take the hit there.
