Young Marine
#1
Probably more than a lot of people, I have studied war and cowboy movies. Most of the young guys get it in the guts and many in the belly button. I know I died in an earlier life. Strong feelings over the years have made me feel this is true. Many of the young guys lived long enough to feel intense pain, their guts on fire. I was a 17 year old Marine on  Tarawa. One of my buddies got it in the guts in the water as he approached the beach. He never fired a shot. I did make it to land, but was shot on the second day. I knew I got it in the belly and when the medic got to me and tore open my shirt I could see I got it in the belly button. A litter took me to an aid station. When the chaplain came in I knew then I was going to die. He told me yes when I asked him. I told him I was just 17 and didn't want to die. I asked him for a favor. Could he write my Dad to tell him that he was with me and that I wanted him to know I got it in the guts. The attached photo is a young Marine like me and he got it in the belly button too.  Just after the photo from this scene he was shot in his guts and a buddy was checking under his shirt right where his belly button was. Twice he said I don't want to die, but then he did. I also liked a movie about the civil war when a young bugle boy was shot in his guts. Just a kid. But then the confederate soldier that shot the kid got it in his guts so he knew then what kid of pain the kid was in when he died.

"I know I died in an earlier life. Strong feelings over the years have made me feel this is true." Fascinating.... perhaps you re-live that in your dreams as opposed to when you are awake(?) If you could only know your name when living in WW2 you would have a chance to learn about your previous self.

I think about it when I am awake. I have researched Marine battles in WW II and know that many 17 year olds did die in battle. Fortunately I have a good friend who I can confide in and we have discussed the strong feelings that I have. My belly button fetish tells me that I was shot in my belly button. My good friend has let me "die" in his arms.

There are many war movies where a 17 or 18 year old gets shot in combat. I make a point of trying to figure out when the person gets shot. If they clutch their belly button area this makes me think they got it in the belly button. This 17 year old made it to the beach, but when the order to move out came he advanced only a few yards before he got shot in his belly button. He died on Iwo Jima never firing a shot. I died on Tarawa and was shot when we started to advance. I never fired a shot either. Thanks too for replying to this post.

A young Kevin Dillion was shot in his guts in the movie Platoon. A web site said he was shot in his stomach, but I prefer the word guts.

This other photo shows an actor as a 18 year old Marine on a south Pacific island. In a great story line he tried to have sex with his girl friend, but she refused because she was afraid something was going to happen to him. He told her nothing is going to happen to me. As they moved inland on the island he had visions of being bayoneted in his guts screaming in pain as the blade entered his belly. But instead he was shot in his guts. He and an enemy soldier shot each other at the same time. He got the other soldier right in his belly button as he got shot in his guts.
