Site Outage

I recently joined this group until an outage lasting several days. Following that this site seems to have been reset to 26 March with the loss of all posts, including mine. More annoying was my membership no longer existed and it took over a day to get back on because initially it wouldn’t send an authorisation email.

Does this happen often and what causes it?
