While not exactly this fetish, two things:
THE FEATHERED SERPENT TV series: lots of intrigue and male flesh in ancient Aztec, crop shirts were the thing
PASSAGE TO ZARAHEMLA: based on Mormon book, this movie does have a few stabbings and a spearing but it's an interesting action adventure too with a few barechested villains....
