One of the episodes of the series, How the West Was Won, included a civil war battle. The one photo shows a union soldier bayoneting a reb in his belly and the other photo shows the face of the reb just after the bayonet is pulled out of his guts.
Not from the civil war, but WW II. Martin Milner played a 17 year old Marine. He made it to the beach at Iwo Jima, but when the order was given to move inland the young Marine made it just a few yards before he got shot in his guts.
